Small and mid-sized businesses currently being hit the hardest by the pandemic and rising taxes are also Calgary’s largest employer and the surest source of new jobs as Calgary recovers. If Calgary is going to recover, we must elect Councillors who have a sound business background.
Calgary needs to recover and heal. To do so our Municipal government needs to partner with and support entrepreneurs and small businesses. We need to streamline the red tape and unnecessary bureaucracy that creates months of delays on simple projects. Government must move at the speed of business. We need a tax system that is both fair and predictable. And we need to be ruthless in ensuring the best possible spending of each and every tax dollar collected.
We can get these things by ensuring business-literate Councillors are elected. But to do that I need the help of the business community. Although businesses cannot donate funds directly, business owners and business leaders can donate personally. As a small business owner for the past 20 years, I know how to read a financial statement. I know how to cut costs and maximize revenue. And I promise to bring those skills to city hall if elected. Can I count on your donation? Even $100 would go a long way in getting campaign material out to Ward 10 voters.
The best social safety net is a job. By working with businesses, the City of Calgary can help reduce unemployment and provide a stronger social safety net for all Calgarians in need. But first, we need to have a strong local economy. Please click on the link below to make your donation today. Click Here
